crux

crossroads
i’ve been here before
teeter-totter becoming
tea-totaller then spreeglee-er
spread eagle before me on this slope of earth
the life forks forth, hither and yon
life keeps me from yawning
that is my open mouth yes but more of a shout of woahyeswhee
on my spry scrockle of scrim, of mouth, of yodel
vim and vigor and skiptomylou
ribboning out from my heart
a path unfurls
roll-poll-wriggling to
the point of no return:
i shout over the abyss
smiling
song of parachute hum of hangglider
i make my running leap into fall
an intrepid, interminable
fool
