Trilobite Sunrise

workshopping sketches towards a poem

trilobite sunrise: roll and fly
november 1, ’12, on the new year

how the day begins to start in darkness
the dung beetle SCARAB in Egypt
rolls the sun across the sky as
beetles roll the dung

round and round

what was old is new again

on the new year i argue with
a friend whether regeneration is in the
dark fallowing worm churning compost
(yes)

rather than in the spring: the paradox of
point in time naming in a cycle process

beetle wings: how we can rise and fly in the velvet morning
before sunrise

before sunrise: roll and fly, churn and turn
before sunrise: roll and fly, churn and turn
renewal

in the dark time now, the new time of the wheel turning year
we roll the darkness as dung beetles
even beneath skygod culture overlay, what is true is true
everything starts in regenerative darkness
before light was rolled, we remember the earlier practice
we roll darkness, carrying morning before morning

before sunrise: roll and fly, churn and turn
before sunrise: roll and fly, churn and turn
renewal
