all fruit has grandma
compost fecund ancestor
goo
slime our mother
i'd rather eat straw
berries than primordial

gleet our giver
suckle savories
not pluck rotten cavities

muck our maker
dirt a worm process.
soils alive! praise be the change

cruel
loam our layer
gut of earth, we thank
the damp stagnant mire changing
you
scat our savior
I want to chant this moving in a circle around a center. What a praise, what an important song! I feel the rhyme/rhythm process so integrated with the sentiments of gratitude and supplication. "Scat our savior" Wow! For how long has that needed to be said and sung?!
ReplyDeleteI agree...let's go out into the woods and chant this...and in the cities as well, of course!
ReplyDeleteThanks for touching the darkest place in my heart.
