Going our own way together

Going our own way together

I’M
drum solo
unburied from the ashes of a pit fire,
hand painted instruments in hand,
headed north to join
IMUNURI
poets,
in the cascades of their lives,
(UN)der
Mt. Hood
to blow cornets  in Portland
neighborhoods
to pitch our words
into Northern Light
mutations of our poetry
incense burning tonight.

  1. Really digging this poem within a poem framed within IMUNURI! Delightful!

I am savoring the "un" - hadn't seen that before. There's so many places to go with that...

The final "incense burning tonight" is so evocative. Loving "to pitch our words/into Northern Light." Yum!
